About strong>Carlos Baladia
(the designer)

Born in Spain and with roots in the film industry as a set designer. Carlos Baladia chose a change of career when he visited India many years ago and became one of the first importers of ethnic India furniture into Europe.

Soon after he opened a flagshipstore in Barcelona of what was to become a successful chains of stores known by the name "Mercader de Venezia".
His unique talent for creating sets that breath a special atmosphere, was the key to the success of these stores and to the booths (winning prices at Maison&Objet) he designed for the company he later-on created.

Getting deeper into the furniture industry and with the help of some partners he started the company known as Baladia and Baladia-deco. For which he designed furniture lines with a unique simplicity and amazing feeling for proportions.

With BLISS he came to China in 2007. Ready to achieve new success by franchising his concept stores.
